Meet Grace
Hi I am Grace, founder of FluxxBox, mum of two girls and passionate advocate for girls receiving much better education about their amazing bodies, menstrual cycles and own female health.
Why do I care?
Firstly because I believe that by understanding our cycles, we get a unique, and important, insight into our own health and wellbeing. Periods are too often linked with feelings of shame and embarrassment and that has to change – knowledge is power.
Secondly, because it was only when I came to wanting to have children (and it didn’t go as planned) that I realised just how little I knew about my own body.
Initially it made me sad, then it made me mad and then it made me passionate for change.
And FluxxBox was born (and luckily so were two amazing little girls!).
Why I Created FluxxBox
Because there are three things I know to be true:
1)Girls feel more comfortable and relaxed learning about periods at home, in a space that feels safe and familiar.
2)Parents want to support their daughters through this change, and simply handing them a book isn’t working for most families.
3)Learning about your amazing body shouldn’t be a ‘nice to have’ - it’s something every girl deserves.
